NY HERO Act Effective Date to be Delayed Until July 5

The recently-passed New York HERO Act was scheduled to take effect today, June 4th. However, the Department of Labor has not yet released model safety plans for businesses to follow, and we have learned that the legislature plans to pass an amendment extending the effective date to July 5th. While the law is technically on the books now, businesses cannot comply with it absent DOL standards and an extension is expected soon; therefore we do not anticipate it will be enforced until July 5th.The National Law Review recently published a comprehensive article outlining the details of the forthcoming amendment​Contact Scott Hobson​ with any questions.Source
