L-Day 2020

Your fellow Big I Tricounty members boarded a van and ‘road-tripped’ up to our State's Capitol for the day to meet with our Senators and Assemblymen & women regarding insurance issues that affect our business and the business of our insureds.  After a brief overview of the day and the discussion points, which we had spoken about on the webinars leading up to the event, “we hit the hill.”  Your board had meetings with 11 legislators in 4 hours.  It certainly was a whirlwind of activity.   We discussed hot topics in the budget that we oppose regarding increased fines to our industry and expansions…

Happy New Year

On behalf of the Big I TriCounty Board of Directors, I wish you all a healthy and prosperous 2020.  We are entering a new year with sites set high to continue membership benefits through business meetings with timely topics, popular networking events and industry information on our newly designed website www.bigitricounty.org  Our Legislative Committee will remain active with one-on-one meetings with local legislators discussing matters of concern to you, our members. Meeting with Speaker Heasties

On Wednesday, November 20, Andrew Chong and I met up with Scott Hobson, Big I NY’s Director of Government Relations in Manhattan at a fundraiser to support Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie.  The event was sponsored by Bolton-St. Johns, Big I NY’s Government Relations Firm at Serafina Tribeca on Wednesday Nov. 20th.   Discussions of the specific topics we have talked about in the past and that are highlighted in Big I’s position paper (on our website), were not discussed, but the support and relationship building is necessary as we gear up for “L” day on March 3 at the Capital in Albany and to further…
