Cybersecurity Regulation – Extension of Filing Deadline for Certification of Compliance Beginning in 2020

​Commencing 2020, The New York State Department of Financial Services (“Department") is extending the deadline for filing the Certification of Compliance pursuant to 23 NYCRR 500 (“Cybersecurity Regulation") from February 15th of each year to April 15th of each year.  Therefore, your next Certification of Compliance will need to be filed by April 15, 2020, covering the calendar year 2019, although the Department will accept Certifications of Compliance filings starting on January 1, 2020.  This extension is effective immediately with respect to Certifications of Compliance filings in 2020.   The Department will be issuing a proposed regulation to amend the Cybersecurity Regulation to change the Certification…
